Being a native of AZ, my love of studying horticulture inspired my passion for plant propagation, which became the foundation to study sustainability and urban planning while at ASU. Never a business major but a major lover of humanity, I decided my life's journey would be using my knowledge and passion for growing food for myself and to help others do the same.
My love of gardening began while growing up on a small family farm/ranch in western Kansas where I spent most of my childhood helping my dad work in the fields. One of my happiest childhood memories was eating ripe tomatoes fresh off the vine and gardening with my grandma. My family fed ourselves and our cattle from crops grown on our land and watered by annual rainfall. While I no longer live on a farm, the desire to grow food and provide for my family has never left me. As a full time nurse and mother of 3, the recent pandemic combined with concerns about the overall food supply made the choice to return to my family's farming roots a simple one. I'm inspired by my lifelong love of gardening to help others become successful growers.
